What is Prayer Times: Azan & Quran?

Prayer Times: Azan & Quran is a free Android application developed by Veriplus Yazılım Teknolojileri AŞ. It is designed to support Muslims in observing the five daily prayers, reading the Holy Quran, and finding the direction of the Kaaba (Qibla) wherever they are.

Main features

• Prayer schedule – Displays the times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha based on the user’s location.
• Qibla compass – Uses the device’s sensors to point toward the Kaaba, helping users orient themselves for prayer.
• Quran access – Provides the full text of the Quran with optional translations.
• Notifications – Allows setting reminders for each prayer time.
• Multi‑language support – Interface available in several languages to reach a global audience.

How it works

After installing the app, it requests permission to access the device’s location. This information is used to calculate local prayer times according to widely accepted calculation methods. The Qibla feature activates the phone’s compass and magnetic sensor to show the direction of the Kaaba on a simple dial.

Practical uses

1. Check daily prayer times without needing an internet connection once the location is set.
2. Set gentle reminders so you never miss a prayer, even during a busy day.
3. Open the Quran section to read verses or follow a translation in your preferred language.
4. Use the Qibla compass when traveling or when you are unsure of the direction for prayer.
